JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Lieutenant Governor Mike Parson announced his support for President Trump’s call to mobilize the National Guard to secure our southern border, writing a letter to President Trump and issuing the following statement:
“I fully support President Trump’s call to deploy the National Guard to bolster border security efforts. If called upon by the Department of Defense to serve in this capacity, I know that the Missouri National Guard will do a stellar job helping to keep our nation safe and our borders secure, and I will support their mobilization. The state of Missouri stands ready to help,” said Lieutenant Governor Parson.
Parson was sworn in as Missouri’s 47th Lieutenant Governor on January 9, 2017. The Lieutenant Governor is the second highest constitutional office in Missouri, with both executive and legislative responsibilities.
