A boil water advisory has been issued for residents in Scott City.
According to a press release issued by the city, Scotty residents are being asked to boil their water for the next two days.
“Due to repairs on the city public water we are asking all residents to boil you water for the next 48 hours or until further notice as a precautionary measure,” Public Works Department Supervisor Dustin Whitworth said in a statement.
City officials said customers impacted by the work should boil their water while work is being done because low pressure can increase the risk of bacteria build up in the water. This includes water used for drinking, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation.
